It is actually quite easy now to design your own web page. The internet has changed a lot in the last couple of years, making it easy for the complete beginner to learn and make your own internet page.
There are a couple of options to choose from and it all depends what you want your website to do. Are you looking to just put a few pictures and a CV so that you can refer people to your site?
You may want to design your own flash website. This is a good choice if you want some flashy images but there is no search engine love for that kind of site, so it will be hard for people to find it.
Or would you like to learn how to make your own website server so that you can make as many websites as you want and own them as you would a house.
Let me explain….
You can use a website like Blogger and make your own page to refer people back to. The problem with that and many other free web page builders is that you never own your sites. (that will belong to Blogger)
The other option is to have your own ’server’ which gives you the right to make as many websites as you want and also the option to make money by doing it for other people. The problem with this modal is that you will be paying about $8 per month. but you can have 20 of your own sites for that.

My personal opinion is that you always want control of the websites you are making. When I make my own web page and spend a lot of time doing it. I want to know that it is my property and it will not be shut down by somebody else at any time.
